In the years before he became King(1820-30), he bought an old farmhouse as a private retreat, away from the gaze of his father – George III. He transformed it into a veritable Pleasure Dome – The Royal Pavilion, one of the most eccentric and exotic homes in Europe. Chinese Style interior and “Indian” exterior. Mad but glorious. The nearby arrow and quaint “Lanes” after an eclectic mix of shops including antiques and collectables.
